Bukit Golf Pondok Indah

A retaining wall for a house at Bukit Golf Residence in Pondok Indah, South Jakarta: 29 soldier piles, 12 metres long, across a 1,650 square metre working area, built together with PT Zetta Konstruksi Indonesia.

The whole job finished in five working days — and it did so on restricted hours. In a neighbourhood like this heavy plant cannot run all day, and the houses on either side stayed occupied throughout.

The site is narrow and hemmed in. A swimming pool and the existing building sit right at the edge of the excavation, and the only way in is a residential street. Rig positions, the excavator's slewing arc and where the cages would be stacked were all settled before the first machine arrived, because once inside there is no room left to change the layout.
