Mess Karyawan Ithaca

Bored pile foundation for Mess Karyawan Ithaca in Cipete Selatan, South Jakarta: 36 piles, 31 of them 600 mm in diameter and five 800 mm. The building belongs to PT Ithaca Resources; we carried out the bored piling under main contractor PT Zetta Konstruksi Indonesia.

The piles run deep. Drilling reached 23.2 to 24.5 metres at each position, and effective pile lengths range from 19.2 to 22.3 metres, following the cut-off level of each pile cap group. Together that comes to roughly 825 metres of drilling, concreted at 30 MPa.

The site is hemmed in on almost every side — neighbouring walls stand right at the edge of the excavation, and the only way in is a residential street. Plant moves through tight space, and every move is planned beforehand because there is no room to correct it on the spot.

Every position carries its own piling record: drilling date, concreting date, actual depth, concrete volume used and how it compares with the theoretical volume. That record is what makes any difference between plan and outcome traceable afterwards, rather than merely remembered.
